TOWCESTER TOWN COUNCIL – BRACKLEY ROAD CEMETERY

        SCALE OF FEES – EFFECTIVE FROM 1ST JANUARY 2008

The FEE, PAYMENT & SUMS set out below apply:-

1)   Where the person to be interred or in respect of whom the right is granted, is or immediately before death or grant,                    was an inhabitant of the Parish of  Towcester.

  OR

2)   In the case of a stillborn child, one of the parents is, or at the time of interment or grant, was, such an inhabitant                         or parishioner

      OR

      Where the interment is to be in a grave previously purchased by the inhabitant or parishioner.

PART 1    INTERMENT OF BODIES (or cremated remains other than in the Garden of Rest

The fees indicated for the various headings include digging of the grave:-

  1)   Child, stillborn up to 2 years                                              £26.00

  2)   Child over 2 years up to 12 years                                      £66.00

  3)   Person over the age of 12, Single or Double Grave          £227.00

  4)   Re-open                                                                         £227.00

PART 2    EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS

For the exclusive right of burial for a period not exceeding 99 years in an earthen grave not exceeding 2.7m by 1.25m:-

  1)   Child not exceeding 12 years                                            £66.00

  2)   Person exceeding 12 years of age                                   £126.00

The fee for the exclusive right of burial includes the Certificate of Death and all expenses thereof.

PART 3    MONUMENTS, GRAVESTONE, TABLETS & MONUMENTAL INSCRIPTIONS

For the right to erect, or place on a grave IN RESPECT OF WHICH THE EXCLUSIVE RIGHT OF BURIAL has been granted:-

  1)   A flat stone            

        a) Not exceeding 2.7m x 1.25m                                            £38.00

        b) Exceeding 2.7m x 1.25m but not exceeding

            2.7m x 2.5m                                                                     £73.00

  2)   A headstone not exceeding 1.75m in height                           £39.00

  3)   A footstone not exceeding 0.6m in height                              £28.00

  4)   A vase                                                                                 £16.00

  5)   Any other monument

        Not exceeding 1.75m height and occupying a space not

        exceeding 2.7m x 1.25m                                                    £118.00

  6)   A kerbstone not exceeding a space of 2.7m x 2.0m              £89.00

Fees indicated for this part include the first inscription. For EACH INSCRIPTION after the first, a fee of £12.00

PART 4    GARDEN OF REST

1)   For interment or scattering of cremated remains in the Garden of Remembrance               £67.00

2)   For exclusive rights of burial or cremated remains in the Garden of Remembrance            £38.00

PART 5    SEARCHES, COPIES AND EXTRACT

1)   EVERY search of the Register books covering a period up to one year                 £23.00

2)   For every additional year after the first                                                                  £16.00

CERTIFIED COPIES

For every certified copy of an entry of Burial in the Register Books a fee in accordance with the REGISTRAR'S SCALE will be charged.

NOTE

Fees for Interment (Parts 1 & 4) apply to interments commenced after 9.30am Monday to Friday or before 3.30pm . At the Council's discretion, in emergency (eg., certified by a Coroner or Medical Practitioner) interments may be permitted outside these hours, subject to a surcharge of £35.00
