The Rotary and Lions clubs of Towcester are delighted that this year's 20th Anniversary festival will take place LIVE across Towcester town centre during the weekend of 17th-19th June 2022.
The Towcester Midsummer Music Festival was established in 2003 by the Town Mayor, Cllr Geoffrey Iley as a way to provide fun and good music for the community in the centre of the Towcester, hosted by the Rotary Club of Towcester, Towcester Lions and Towcester Centurions.
As well as conducting the opening ceremony, the Town Mayor, acts as Master of Ceremonies throughout the whole weekend; closing Saturday night with a traditional fireworks display. Profits from the festival go to the Town Mayor's charities.
Proceeds will benefit the Town Mayor's charities: Cynthia Spencer Hospice and local youth groups including Girlguiding Towcester and 1st Towcester Scouts.
Admission to the festival is by programme and this will give you entry to all the community venues (Town Hall, Sawpits Centre, St Lawrence Church) - and there are many choices for all musical tastes. You will be encouraged to visit as many events as you like over the weekend.
Programmes are £18 per family (two adults and up to three children), £7 per adult and £5 for concessions.
Programmes are available to purchase in advance from Colemans Stationers and Towcester Town Hall.
Many town centre pubs also join in the festival atmosphere by organising their own musical entertainment. There are no entry requirements, but we would be eternally grateful to customers who donate a pound or two to the Mayor's charities collection tins that will be circulating over the weekend.
There is free parking for the event in Richmond Road, Waitrose, Sponne Arcade and Northampton Road. Please note that the long-stay car park on Northampton Road closes at 10pm, but any vehicles parked there will still be able to exit.
Food & Drink
Many of the venues will be serving food and drinks, including a free BBQ at the Tove Valley Centre on Saturday night.
If you have lost children, friends or relative, or require first aid, please visit the Chantry House on the Market Square, which will be staffed throughout the event and wll act as a meeting point and Help & Information Centre.
The firework finale on Satruday night will commence at 10:30pm (subject to suitable weather conditions) on the Watermeadows and will last up to 30 minutes. They are best viewed from Bury Mount.
Most of all, have a fabulous weekend and enjoy all the entertainment. Take lots of photos and let us know which acts you've enjoyed, using the tag #towcestermusicfestival on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
