A5 Roadworks Update 14th September 2018

The concrete to the new slab over the gas trench in Phases 2a and 2b (part), which will be poured this week, requires several days to cure and during that time no other work can be carried out in those Phases.

In order to prevent any delay to the scheme, Forkers will install three road gullies in a short section of Phase 3 whilst the concrete cures.

We have been advised that they will start this work on Monday 17th September 2018 and it will take four to five days to complete.

Forkers will be closing approximately 100 metres of the northbound lane only between 113 and 147 Watling Street (in the area of Silverstone Brook).

This will mean that there will be no parking available in that particular length of road during these works.

The traffic will be controlled by temporary three - way traffic signals. This is to accommodate vehicles entering the traffic controlled area from The Lindens, Malthouse Court and adjoining properties.

Off street parking permits will not be required during these particular works.

As the existing Pelican crossing signals will be within the lane closure, they will be switched off during these works. Please take extra care when crossing the road in this location.

Please note that all planned works may be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

Forkers apologise for any disruption these works may cause. Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey.
