The Sawpits Centre

Towcester Town Council purchased the old library for community use in 2017. It has been fully refurbished and is available for hire by local groups and organisations.

Pedestrian access is from Richmond Road and from Watling Street through the alleyway next to Hartwell's & Towbury Court and 185. Vehicular access is from Richmond Road only. There is a small private car park, with disabled bay, exclusively for users of the venue, at the rear of building.

It has an overall capacity of 150 with three rooms of varying sizes and a shared kitchen facility. The venue is level throughout and has a large disabled toilet/baby changing room. Folding tables and chairs are available for hirers from the storeroom.

There is also guest wi-fi and we hope to have a hearing loop installed soon.

Open-Plan Hall: 15.5m x 6m (plus central 'corridor' 15.5m x 3.5m)
Self-Contained Hall: 12.5m x 6m

After 10.00 pm, bookings attract an additional one-off charge of £9.70 weekdays and £16.10 weekends in respect of Caretaker's duties.
