Installation of Bollards at the entrance of Saxon Fields (The Shires open area)
Towcester Town Council will commence works during week commencing 27th March to install a number of bollards across the Surtees Way entrance to Saxon Fields (The Shires open area). This will include one removable bollard to allow access for the Town Council's maintenance contractor. It is estimated that the works will take approximately two days to complete.
The purpose of these works is to prevent unauthorised vehicular access to the site. Having previously experienced a situation with a large group attempting to take up occupation of Towcester Recreation Ground, the Town Council has undertaken a review of its open areas. This identified Saxon Fields as the only site within the Town Council's ownership which is vulnerable to unauthorised vehicular access.
The Town Council's-appointed contractor has carefully measured the spacing for the bollards to ensure continued access for users of push chairs, wheelchairs and motorised scooters.
Should you have any questions with respect to the works, please do not hesitate to contact us. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience that may be caused during the course of the works.
