New Town Mayor for Towcester 2025-26, Cllr Rachel Dando L'Olive

At its Annual Meeting on Monday, May 19, 2025, Towcester Town Council appointed Cllr Rachel Dando L'Olive as the new Town Mayor and Cllr Maggie Clubley as the Deputy Mayor. The gathering was graced by the presence of Deputy Lieutenant Mary Miller, WNC Chairman, Cllr Alison Eastwood, and the Mayor of Northampton, Cllr Jane Birch, along with representatives from the outgoing Mayor's charities and the local community.
During his address, Cllr Damian Reynolds shared highlights from his year in office, which included supporting a variety of local volunteer organisations, welcoming new businesses to Towcester, and representing the Town Council at civic and community events. He remarked, "The enduring legacy of my mayoral term will be the twinning agreement with Zhydachiv, a town in Ukraine. This initiative began with Cllr Johns and was largely carried out by Cllr Tarbun during their terms. Special thanks to Steve Challen and Alex Donaldson for delivering their sixth ambulance of aid to Ukraine this March and facilitating the signing of the official twinning documents."
Cllr Reynolds then presented the final donations to his chosen charities: Macmillan Cancer Support, Dogs for Good, and South Northants Youth Engagement, having raised over £4,500 over the year. He then handed over the mayoral chains to the new Town Mayor for 2025–26, Cllr Rachel Dando L'Olive.
Cllr Dando L'Olive expressed her gratitude to Cllr Reynolds for his service and announced that her chosen charity for 2025–26 is the Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust. She welcomed the brass group from Towcester Music School, who concluded the event with a lively performance.
