Towcester Town Council has agreed its budget and precept for the financial year 2026/27 following a meeting held on Monday, 12 January 2026.

For the financial year 2026/27, the Parish Council tax for a Band D property in Towcester will be £151.57 per annum, representing a 6.2% increase on the previous year. This equates to an annual rise of £8.84, or just £0.17 per week.

During the meeting, councillors carefully reviewed the operational costs of each committee alongside key expenditure required to maintain essential services and deliver community priorities. After detailed consideration, the Council approved the final budget and set the precept necessary to meet its commitments for the year ahead.

The precept forms part of residents’ Council Tax and is used to fund local services, facilities, and projects managed by Towcester Town Council. This includes maintaining public spaces, supporting community initiatives, and delivering improvements that benefit the town.

Further details of the agreed budget and precept will be published on the Council’s website in the coming days. Residents are encouraged to visit Financial and Transparency Documents for more information or call the office on 01327 350995.
