SNC Local Development Order Consultation

South Northants Council Logo

South Northamptonshire Council has prepared a draft Local Development Order (LDO). This is intended to help homeowners to extend their homes, by removing the need for planning permission for most extensions. There will be a quicker, alternative process put in place, for SNC to check that plans comply with the terms of the LDO.

SNC are seeking views about whether you support the idea in principle, as well as any detailed comments that you may have about the draft LDO. Any feedback they receive will be taken on board before a decision is made about how best to proceed.

SNC has prepared documents to accompany the draft LDO, which you may also make comments about if you wish. There is an online survey available, but SNC will also accept comments made by email or in a letter if you would prefer. It depends on what you have to say, as to the best way for you to respond to the consultation.

Where the consultation documents can be viewed

The consultation documents including the draft LDO, EIA Screening, Equalities Impact Assessment, a map showing the area to be covered, and the Design Guide, are available to view on the SNC's website at

In addition, paper copies of all the consultation documents are available to view at SNC's offices at The Forum, Towcester.
