ROAD CLOSURE: A5 Towcester Town Centre 27-28 April 2026

National Highways has informed us of upcoming essential targeted resurfacing and LED upgrades on the A5 along Towcester. They will also be sharing the closure with Anglian Water to undertake their work, to minimise disruption.
When will this work take place?
Overnight from 9pm to 6am Monday 27th to Tuesday 28th April 2026.
To carry out work safely, they will implement a full closure of Towcester High Street in both directions, and a signed diversion will be in place. There will also be no parking permitted outside Marlin's Fish Bar (hatched area) and Reffield Close during working hours.
What does this mean for you?
National Highways will make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum. They always aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes.
Access to frontages will be maintained via an escort system. National Highways apologise for any inconvenience or disruption to those living close to the work, and will make every effort to carefully manage noise levels and additional lighting to minimise the impact.
