WNC’s SWEP has been activated today in response to the high temperatures.

For at least the next 3 days, people who are sleeping rough in the West Northants area will be advised about accessing shelter during the daytime until 8pm.  In Towcester, the library at The Forum will be provided with bottled water to provide to rough sleepers during this time. 

All known rough sleepers are being contacted and provided with details of how to access the emergency provision. However, if you know someone who is sleeping rough in the West Northants area and requires further information, please advise them to contact the Council on 0300 126 7000 or email the Street Outreach team at OutreachTeam.NBC@westnorthants.gov.uk

On Friday morning, the Met Office weather forecast will be reviewed, and a decision will be made on whether or not the SWEP provision will continue to operate.
