Still time to have your say on the future of council run adult social care services

Residents, service users, families, carers and staff are being reminded that there is still time to share their views on the future of a number of West Northamptonshire Council's in-house adult social care services.

The Council launched a 12-week public consultation earlier this summer and is encouraging anyone with an interest in the services to take part before the consultation closes.

The consultation is seeking feedback on a range of adult social care services, including Obelisk House and Southfields residential care homes, Eleanor Lodge supported living service, the Council's home care service, and day services at Gladstone Road, Olympus House, Towcester Forum, Longlands in Daventry and the Cottages.

As demand for adult social care continues to grow and people's needs become more complex, the Council is reviewing these services to ensure they continue to provide safe, high-quality care that supports people to live as independently as possible.

The consultation provides an opportunity for people to tell the Council what is important to them, what currently works well and what improvements they would like to see in the future.

The review is also considering whether current service models and the buildings they operate from are best meeting people's needs now and in the years ahead. A range of potential options and ideas are being explored as part of the consultation, and no decisions have been made.

Councillor Laura Couse, Cabinet Member for Adult Care and Public Health at West Northamptonshire Council, said: “It is encouraging that people who access our adult services have taken the time to provide their views on the proposals. We are keen to hear from as many people as possible so we can ensure that our communities shape these plans and they reflect the true needs of our residents.”
