Towcester Youth & Community Centre, Islington Road, Temporarily Closed as a Precaution

The Trustee for The Towcester Community Centre Trust, Towcester Town Council, resolved at its meeting on Monday 13^th July 2026 to temporarily close the Community Centre as a precaution while health and safety matters are reviewed.

The wellbeing of staff, visitors, contractors and members of the public remains the Council’s priority. The decision has been taken to allow further assessments to be carried out and to identify any steps that may be needed before the building can safely reopen.

During this temporary closure, access to the building should only take place with prior permission from Towcester Town Council. Anyone requiring access for essential reasons is asked to contact the Council in advance so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

We appreciate that this temporary closure may be inconvenient for users of the Centre, and we are grateful for the community’s understanding while this review takes place. The building will reopen once the Council is satisfied that it is appropriate and safe to do so. Further updates will be provided when available.
